Profile

I am a specialist in commercial property and development work, with particular expertise in advising developers,  local authorities and  public-sector bodies on complex, high-value projects. While my experience spans both commercial and residential transactions, my core focus lies in strategic property portfolio management and mixed‑use and regeneration schemes, often involving an agricultural or rural component.

Over the last decade, I have developed a strong practice in corporate and project-based lending, acting for commercial banks, specialist lenders, and local authorities on investment acquisitions, development finance, and large-scale securitisation programmes. I am known for my pragmatic, efficient approach in fast-paced transactions and for ensuring that deals progress smoothly to completion.

My day-to-day work includes:

  • Acting for local authorities on purchases, disposals, regeneration schemes, and development partnerships.
  • Advising developers on site assembly, land acquisition, overage, collaboration agreements, conditional contracts, and preparing sites for onward sale post-development.
  • Structuring joint ventures, promotion agreements, and multi‑party development agreements for mixed-use and commercial schemes.
  • Drafting and negotiating commercial leases, management documentation, and landlord & tenant structures for offices, industrial estates, retail units, and mixed-use developments.
  • Property securitisation and secured lending for commercial and private lenders.
  • Advising on agricultural tenancies, farm business structures, rural estates, easements, and third‑party infrastructure rights.

With a long-standing interest in rural landholdings, I have played a key role in expanding the firm’s agricultural and rural affairs offering. My experience includes representing estates, landowners, and local authorities in transactions involving farmland, rural diversification, and large tracts of development land. I previously served as a board member for the National Fruit Show and remain actively involved in regional rural and development initiatives.

When out of the office:

I am a keen runner and enjoy the great outdoors with my family and Margot my beautiful Labrador.
