I started at Whitehead Monckton in 2003 as a Trainee Legal Secretary after completing my Ilex Legal Secretarial Diploma at City Way College, Rochester.
My first Secretarial role was undertaken in our Commercial Team and I was there for just over four years. I then moved over into our Succession Team in 2008 for a new challenge and completed my Paralegal course and subsequently gained my Senior Secretarial status.
I have since cemented myself in the Succession Team as a Senior Legal Secretary assisting firstly the Maidstone office but also the wider Team across all of our offices.
My responsibilities in this area including being the first point of contact for most clients and assisting them with enquiries and queries with compassion and understanding. On a daily basis some tasks I undertake include completing audio dictations by touch typing, dealing with phone calls, managing diaries, liaising closely with fee earners of all levels and clients, providing quotes to clients, dealing with simple signing meetings and managing both our Legal Review and Professional Attorney Programmes for clients.
I enjoy meeting and liaising with our clients and guiding them through the various aspects of their instructions and being there for them when they are going through what can be a very tough or scary experience.
I can assist with the initial enquiries of succession planning, Wills and inheritance tax planning, probate and administration of estates, deputyship matters and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
I am also a Fire Warden where I work with others as a team to ensure the safety of our colleagues. We have regular practices and we liaise after to help improve the running of the evacuations.
I enjoy exercising when I can, spending quality time with my husband and children and making memories with family and friends.
