Leading Kent-based law firm, Whitehead Monckton, is celebrating raising £14,322 for its charity partner, Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Whitehead Monckton, with offices in Maidstone, Canterbury, Tenterden & Ramsgate, has been partnered with the charity for 2 years since April 2024 and raised £14,322 through staff’s tireless efforts in organising, promoting and taking part in fundraising and events. These ranged from inflatable obstacle courses, race nights, quiz events, Christmas Jumper Days and Bake-Off competitions. Staff also took part in the Thames Path Challenge and skydives.
Why Whitehead Monckton Chose Alzheimer’s Research UK For Two Consecutive Years
For Whitehead Monckton’s staff, choosing Alzheimer’s Research UK was more than a fundraising decision—it represented a heartfelt commitment from the entire organisation.
Dementia is one of the greatest medical and social challenges of our time, touching the lives of millions of families across the UK. Many of the firm’s staff and clients have personal experiences of watching loved ones face the devastating effects of Alzheimer’s disease, and some have trained as Dementia Friends Ambassadors.
Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, striving for a cure by revolutionising the way dementia is treated, diagnosed, and prevented. If nothing changes, one in two people will be directly affected by dementia – either by developing the condition themselves, caring for someone with it, or both. Alzheimer’s Research UK exists to change that.
Chris Longden, Managing Director at Whitehead Monckton, said:
“Dementia touches so many lives, including those within our own organisation. Choosing Alzheimer’s Research UK as our Charity of the Year reflects our commitment to standing alongside the families and communities affected by this condition. We firmly believe in the power of research and innovation, and we are proud to support the vital work that is paving the way towards earlier diagnosis, better treatments, and ultimately a cure.”
Frankie Clarke, Senior Relationship Fundraising Officer at Alzheimer’s Research UK, said:
“On behalf of everyone at Alzheimer’s Research UK, we would like to say a huge thank you to Whitehead Monckton. Over the last 2 years, you have raised an incredible £14,322 through a whole A-Z of fundraising activities and events, and we are so grateful.
“Thanks to your support, Alzheimer’s Research UK is accelerating progress towards a cure for dementia. Thank you for standing with us.”
