Employment Rights Act Webinar: Preparing Employers for New Rights and Duties

The Employment Rights Act 2025 became law in December and represents the biggest single update to employment law in a generation with the purpose of bringing enhanced rights for workers and employees.

With a number of the changes coming into effect as early as April, now is the time for employers to ensure that their contracts and policies reflect the new landscape and that they are aware of the scope of the changes and the differences in approach that will be necessary to remain legally compliant.

Please listen back to our our webinar below where we discuss the changes that are coming into effect in the coming months including:-

  • Managing the early stages of employment effectively to avoid negative impacts arising from the reduced qualifying period for unfair dismissal;
  • The impact of the longer employment tribunal time limits and the importance of managing grievances and disputes effectively;
  • Further changes to sexual harassment law and the increase responsibilities of employers;
  • Achieving contractual variations when these are needed;
  • Changes to statutory sick pay;
  • Enhanced rights to paternity leave, parental leave, flexible working and enhanced protection for pregnant women and new mothers;
  • Future rights of those engaged on zero hours contracts;
  • The introduction of the Fair Work Agency;
  • The changing relationship with trade unions.
