About Us

Whitehead Monckton

With offices in CanterburyMaidstone, Ramsgate, Tenterden and London. Whitehead Monckton is one of the largest legal practices in the county.

We offer a wide range of services specifically for businesses together with legal support for you as an individual.  You can see our lawyers at the office most convenient to you or we can meet at your office or home.

It’s important to us that we are recognised within Kent as being a very approachable and professional firm. Many of our staff, including a number of Directors, completed their legal training with the firm and our ethos of client support and care is very important to all members of the firm.

Personal relationships

With over 230 years of history we have some very long standing clients.  For example, we have advised Kentstone Properties Limited since it was incorporated in 1862.  This makes it the second eldest trading company in the county.

For individuals we have often advised more than three generations of families providing continuity and innovation as the changing regulations offer challenges and opportunities.

Whitehead Monckton became a Limited Company in 2014 and joined LawNet in August 2015.

We are proud to be corporate sponsors of Locate In Kent for 2019/2020.  Locate in Kent works in partnership with organisations and businesses that are passionate about the economic success of Kent.  By working together we can offer potential investors a bespoke, uniquely tailored approach offering businesses specialised support to set up and/or expand in Kent.

Our People

You need to know your legal support is being provided by individuals with the right experience and specialist knowledge.  Equally important is that they have the right approach – negotiating firmly on your behalf as necessary whilst ensuring you achieve the agreements you need.

It may be you are selling your business, buying a new property or negotiating the financial settlement for your divorce, in all these examples we will provide the direction and advice you need.

We are of a sufficient size to have a specialist team of managers within Central Services providing support to the business with accounts, human resources, marketing and information technology are provided centrally.  This enables the lawyers and their support staff to concentrate on providing you with the excellent service you need.

Our Standards

As part of our commitment to excellent client care, in August 2018 we obtained the quality management standard ISO9001. ISO stands for International Standards Organisation and being ISO9001 certified, means that we have met the requirements. ISO 9001:2008 is focused on meeting customer expections and delivering customer satisfaction so we must pay attention to the customer. The ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) has a way to ensure the company stays focused, and that’s quality auditing. Internal audits, registration (and surveillance) audits, and self-process aduits.

In addition we have achieved specific Law Society accreditations for through the following schemes:
